A Hard Day's Night....

Yes, you should now be singing the Beatles song!  Every time I think of my current work schedule I get that catchy toon in my head!  "It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog."

Our life is always crazy, but right now it just feels a little extra crazy.  Some of you may not know that I have been working a customer service job from home - seasonal and part-time since August.  I REALLY like it!  It is for a company called Higher One - so far the company has proven to be flexible, organized, and fun!  I am currently working 19 hours a week, inbound calls.  This should continue through October, but I am hoping that this will be a long-term opportunity!  Sometimes I work nights and Curtis has the kids, and sometimes I work days - Kristall has been watching Graydon during my day time hours!  (Thanks Kristall!)

This 19 hour job is on top of my current 14 hours at Travis Oaks, where I am a head teacher in the two year old class.  I have seven kids in my class (there are two classes in our age group) ~ and this has also been very busy and fun (and has a lot of creative prep-time involved)!  I was very excited about the opportunity to return to Travis Oaks.  Graydon has moved up, and has a hard time when he sees me at school.  This challenge will hopefully work itself out.

These 33 hours are on top of my other job for Vito Selling and working for Tony Parinello!  I have been working for him doing web updating to his audio shows for about 1.5 years.  I usually put in about 4 hours a week for him.  I love this job too because it is flexible and Tony is a go getter and just makes things happen.  He is one of those types of people that has run a marathon (Catalina, CA) for 27 consecutive years, and just finished his eighth book.  In his latest book "Selling to Vito" I am listed in the acknowledgements - which is very cool!!  (Maybe a nice addition to your bookshelf?)

I am tired just writing about my schedule.  These 37 hours are on top of being a full-time Mom (because I am still home with a kid most days), housekeeper, and wife.  It seems like more than 37 hours because there are three different jobs and three different mindsets!  Curtis is doing great, so I don't need all these jobs, the opportunities just couldn't be passed up (and of course the extra income doesn't hurt).  I am also playing soccer again one night a week (I took about six months off) and am very happy about that.  I was roped into being the PTO secretary, but backed down and am still on the board writing the monthly newsletter.

The kids however don't have many activities this fall.  Schuyler is in Brownie scouts, but no one is playing any sports.  We thought that as a family we can play a different sport one night a week and save about $250!  So our plan is to play tennis, golf, soccer, baseball, basketball and whatever else we feel like!  Of course school and homework are keeping us plenty busy too!

I realize this is probably a boring post, but it is a component of our life and the reason for my lack of recent blogging!

Have to go work now.......
Not really ~ "It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log!"

Wow, makes my week look lame! Sounds like you love all that you do and if you could give up sleep you might do even more... so, glad you can still sleep a bit! Looking forward to seeing everyone in October! Love you, Mom and Ron
