Birthday Boy!

Being gone four out of the last five weeks made birthday party planning for Graydon a bit challenging. However, he was really pumped about his 'birthday party' and talked about it all the time - so we had to do something! We were able to celebrate with the Chapman side of the family since we were all gathered for my cousin Kenda's wedding, and of course he had his three balloons next to his hotel bed (family tradition) when he woke up on his birthday morning (thanks Curt)! Then we were able to squeeze in a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese (after my triathlon) with his cousins Sawyer, Emerson, and JD. Shaun and my Mom were able to make that as well and it was a wonderful end to a whirlwind month! Happy, Happy birthday sweet, sweet boy!
  • Favorite TV Show: Team Umizoomi and Little Einsteins.
  • Favorite Color: Orange, Orange and Orange. Orange everything - ice cream, popsicle, cup, shirt, utensils - anything and everything - always orange
  • Favorite Song: Big Green Tractor, Lollipop song, Viva la Vida (aka 'daddy song').
  • Favorite Food: Junk food! Chips, sweets, and any fruit - specifically melon and strawberries.
  • Favorite Toy: Any train, truck, plane or tractor. He is still partial to combine's (carrying one in picture below) and loves his 'Rocket' (which looks just like the cake - THANKS Kristall).
He is just so special and precious - there are no words! I just love the way a toddler talks (and he loves to talk), and how he gets his pronouns backwards, and changes the tense on verbs - "You'd sawed that helicopter land?!"  Or tonight as I was putting him to bed as he gently rubbed my cheek, "Close yous eyes Mommy!"

He is such a good snuggler. He falls asleep in his own bed, but comes into our bed EVERY night around 2am. He snuggles in and has to mush his cheek against mine to fall asleep - I love it!  He is 27.5 inches tall.

He insists on doing EVERYTHING himself! It is frustrating to me. I know he needs help, but he will not ask for help unless he has tried it himself first. If he has help before he has asked for it, it will end up in a meltdown. So everything takes very long - shoes, clothes, carseats, opening things. Of course if we go the meltdown route it takes even longer, so I just let him try.

He really is three going on five. Most of his friends are at least two years older and it doesn't stop him a bit!  Three going on five, except I don't know any five year olds that still wear a diaper and use a pacifier.  Next steps!
