Feely Feet and Pockets
Yesterday the Viking Kindergarten class had "Feely Feet" day. There was a course of about ten items that you walked through to learn about senses and such. There was a foam block, egg foam, carpet, bubble wrap, rocks, sand, spaghetti (that was weird), paint, jello, shaving cream, mud, then water to clean off. I think that is all in order of the video. Only about half (or fewer) of the attending Moms participated, but I had a lot of fun with Schuyler and walking a lot of other kids through the course. Each child got to go about five times! I was relieved to have the help of Dennis, Cherrie, and Kristall to hold down the fort with Graydon, because if he were there he would have been into everything with no apprehension! Today her class is off to the Austin zoo (I, unfortunately, didn't go). Before Feely Feet just after I arrived, I had given Schuyler a hug and they were on the carpet listening to instructions...... Schuyler looked at me and opened her pocket with one hand, then quietly and repetitively with the other hand pointed to me, then pointed in her pocket, while nodding her head with an adoring look on her face. Later I said "were you telling me that you were going to put me in your pocket?" She said "yes" and I questioned what she was going to do with me (even though I knew). She said "she was going to take me out and kiss me whenever she wanted." I told her that she made my day and melted my heart! I think I posted about the pocket before, because I often tell the girls I am going to put them in my pocket, but the fact that she wanted to put me in hers brought tears to my eyes!
