Good Intentions

We always have good intentions to make it to church on Sunday morning, however conflicted whether to go to the Catholic or Baptist church. Curtis is usually the one encouraging us to go, and I am usually thinking about what a handful 3 children would be for an hour in a quiet room of a hundred people, encouraging us to wait until "next" weekend. We went this morning, and I lasted about five minutes in the congregation with Graydon, he and I then moved into the quiet room where we lasted about another five minutes because he kept turning the handle, trying to open the door to get out - five minutes might be an exaggeration. He and I then just walked around outside while Curtis and the girls attended the rest of church.

In the afternoon we attended a nearby Oktoberfest (in Jonestown) and had a great time. We scored some free books, jumped in the jumpy house, made some sand art, ate cotton candy, and of course had a beer. Schuyler got her face painted (as she always does), but Morgan for some reason does not want any part of getting her face painted. They both got heart wand balloons from Dipsy Daisy the clown, and they both popped heading back to the car, producing two melt downs. It is always a sad event to lose a balloon in the sky or to have it pop (no matter how much light you try to shed on the matter), why are kids so sensitive to that? Curtis was on Graydon duty pretty much the whole time and I felt like I was on a vacation (thank you Curtis)! I had a good time, and I can only imagine how magnified it would be if you were 3 or 5.

No matter how hard I try, I can never get a good picture of all three kids together. The first is the best attempt, followed by the next take where Graydon is frustrated because Morgan is smothering him.

Heather, the stories are great and so nice to have written down to remember them later! The kids are adorable! Love you all, Grandma and Grandpa
