Schuyler can read!!!! Or at least she is starting to. They sent their first reader books home today and she read the whole book to me (Frightened by Joy Cowley)! I was so proud! Then she proceeded to read it about 15 times and then I had it memorized! At her parent teacher conference last week I started crying because Mrs. Woodall showed me her journal that she wrote things in with no help at all, like "I love the pool", "I love Mrs. Woodall", and one where she attempted to write "my friend Cali came home on the bus" which wasn't correct but was legible! What a milestone! What is really cool is that she is excited about it!
The bad news:
Schuyler has a cavity and Morgan has pink eye! How do you tell a girl who was terrified of the doctor, and who wouldn't get in the dentist chair to have her teeth cleaned, that she has a cavity and has to get it drilled out and filled? Yikes. I took the girls to the dentist today and after our last doctor's appointment they were both apprehensive and wouldn't leave my lap. At our last dentist visit they were eager to get in the chair, pick their favorite flavor, and get a new toothbrush. Today it was like pulling teeth (no pun intended)! Schuyler was so sad and ashamed that she had a cavity, and it didn't help that Morgan was boasting that she got to put her name in the no cavity box. It reminds me of a Sponge Bob book we have Behold, No Cavities! I felt so bad for her.
As I said, Morgan has pink eye (I think). The doctor wouldn't give me eye drops over the phone (which we are almost out of), and of course she doesn't want to go to the doctor. Let's hope that the drops we have will stretch! It reminds me what Morgan was about four months and had pink eye for the first time:
According to Morgan she has "two blue eyes, and one pink eye" and she said she can't be put in my pocket right now because she has "a" pink eye.Check out our little pop star!

What a day! Love the rock star! Tell Schuyler I am proud of her reading! Morgan's story is so cute! Love you all, Grandma and Grandpa
Hi there,
Love that you're able to keep up with the blog. Makes it feel like we're there to share in all the excitment. I love hearing all the news. Let little Schuyler know that she doesn't have to be ashamed about the cavity. Lot of great people have them! Well, we shouldn't try to get them but if it happens it's okay.
Love you all!
