Our Thanksgiving was really just a lot of eating, libation, and hanging out! Sharon and Ron were here for a week, and Janiece, John and JD were here for a couple of days, and Bryan, Kristall, and Sawyer were of course here! Some people went shopping, to a movie (Twilight), several walks, park trips, fishing, Bryan played bongos down at The Pier, I made 3 lemon meringue pies from our neighbors lemon tree, Sharon made the coveted baby cakes, and JD had his first birthday party! It was a great family time, and a lot of fun to have the cousins together again!

Thanksgiving wouldn't have been complete without the kids making Plymouth Rock place settings, whip cream shots, and making (eating) a gingerbread house!

I just finished our Christmas cards, and am sorry to say that I am very disappointed with the picture. For the few who read my blog, please ignore the red eyes and messy hair! I just wanted to get the 100 cards out the door and just took what I thought was the best picture (not real sure what happened to my quality control department, aka Curtis). But given that we were in a clubroom full of people, the kids were distracted and enjoying candy canes, it is an okay picture! I am usually a perfectionist with these kinds of things, and am upset with myself for letting these slip by. Shrug, oh well.
The Christmas card picture was the Saturday night after Thanksgiving when we went to see Santa down at the club room. He arrived on a fire truck as he always does! On the way down I asked Schuyler what she was going to ask Santa for. She said, "A pink cell phone so I can talk to you from Kindergarten!" I said that Santa probably wouldn't get a cell phone until she was at least in middle school (?). I didn't want her to have anxiety about what to ask him for, so I tried to help. She was satisfied to ask him for a "pretty basketball." In the middle of the year she wanted to ask him for a hamster, so I was relieved with the simplicity of a basketball. Morgan on the other hand I don't think talked to Santa, but said that she wanted a bunk bed (which they already have), so she could have the top bunk so the deer wouldn't get her at night (remember her dream).
This past Saturday we saw Santa again - twice: Once at the Happy Birthday Jesus party, and the other at the elementary book fair. Clifford was also at the book fair, and Morgan couldn't get enough of him. After having her picture taken with Clifford I asked if she wanted her picture with Santa, she said, "No, Clifford again!". Graydon was quite fascinated with Clifford as well, but didn't want to be in contact with him at all (much less Santa). Later Schuyler really questioned Santa saying that she had seen three and that they all had different skin. I think we cleared it up, but isn't she to young to be questioning this?

Looks like lots of fun. I'd be interested to know how you cleared up the mysteriously different-looking Santa/s ... just that he's magic? That is a tough one. I stay verrry vague about it!
We said that they were all his helpers and that he couldn't get around to see every kid because he was busy preparing for his big night........
I think you did a great job filling us in. Not boring at all! I just love reading all the comments the kids are making these days. Enjoy the season! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Love,
Gelce
