No longer a bus rider......
Shouldn't the requirement and job description of a bus driver be "friendly" and "good with kids?" Not "creepy" and "chain smoker?" I was very disappointed on the first day of school when said bus driver did not even greet Schuyler and help relieve any anxiety, that was topped by Schuyler's continued anxiety and adamant requests not to ride the bus, topped by stories of the bus driver yelling at the kids, topped by the thick dirt I saw all over the bus floor, topped by seeing the bus driver off duty today. Now, maybe he is a good driver, but I am no longer comfortable with Schuyler riding the bus (nothing significant happened, maybe just Mother's intuition). I don't mean to stereotype or be judgemental, but that is some precious cargo being carried. Again, shouldn't the requirement and job description of a bus driver be "friendly" and "good with kids?"

I think they give these jobs to those who are the lowest bidder...did you mention to the school your feelings? It shows schuyler her feelings are valid and you trust her judgement! You go super mom!!!
Ew. Bummer. Good idea to mention it to the school. Meantime, does this mean you are dropping off and picking up?
Belated Happy Birthdays to C & H & M. Sorry we are delinquent relatives.
Absolutely!!! YOu did the right thing and you should absolutely say something to the shcool. I was lucky and always had great busdrivers when I was a kid.
Schuyler and all the kids deserve a friendly loving bus driver and most are. Sure sad her first experience was not good. You are a great Mom!! Love you, Mom and Ron
