Morgan had her Valentine party at school on Thursday and of course there was lots of candy and sweet valentines! I then took Morgan and Graydon to the elementary school on Friday to enjoy Schuyler's Valentine party. I knew it would be a challenge since it was during Graydon's naptime, but I pushed him because I figured it was my duty as a Domestic Engineer to participate in this valentine fun. Of course that (Graydon) had it challenges, but I am very glad we went! It was so fun to see all the kids in their pink and red valentine outfits, to see how excited they were to open all their valentines, and to partake in all the pink and red food (pink cupcakes, pink cookies, purple grapes, pink soda, strawberries, candy, candy, and more candy). When we got there all four kindergarten classes were lined up during recess to get a heart painted on their faces. I couldn't believe they had the patience to ALL stay like that for a long time. There was only one smart girl! Jade Press (our good friend) played and played (with Graydon a lot), enjoying her recess and waited for the line to die down, she was the last one who then went over and got her face painted! Schuyler was somehow the first in line, and Morgan was able to cut.
The fun didn't really come until later when my liking for pink was challenged! Morgan proceeded to get sick about every hour for twelve hours, and I got to see all the pink a second time around! My poor, poor baby. It was a long night of bathing, bed changing, bucket holding, and laundry. This morning Morgan was just loving on Schuyler when she wasn't feeling well, she "wanted her Sissy!"
Morgan missed out on the shrimp and heart shaped pasta, and the chocolate covered strawberries that we had for dinner. The plan was to celebrate our Valentine's Day on Friday because on Saturday we were going to get up early and drive to San Antonio. We were going to spend a couple of quality hours with Sharon and Ron who were there a few hours before catching a plane, and we were going to a Baptism where Curtis will be the Godfather. We are very disappointed to miss out on those special times. Curtis made the journey alone.......
The girls waited until Graydon went down for his nap, and then they separated all their candy from the paper valentine's. Morgan was feeling better, but didn't grasp why she couldn't partake in more candy eating! You can see in the picture these really cool candy necklaces that Kristall made (thanks Aunt Kristall)!
It must be a Burke thing, maybe something we made up??? I asked my friend Micka, "if I told you my belly was doing the hooch, would you know what I meant?" She laughingly said no, and I proceeded to tell her it is what we say if our belly is just not right. This morning, I said that my belly was doing the hooch, and Morgan said, "my belly is just doing a little bitty hooch now!" Please feel better my little angel monkey!
