I think it is so special when the girls get to see rainbows, and how they get so excited when we can create one with the sunlight and a hose or sprinkler. The other night on the way to my soccer game I followed a rainbow there, a full rainbow, for forty minutes - how cool is that?
And when I was a kid I remember going to Amsterdam to visit my Grandmother Toddy; and Shaun and I would catch fireflies and keep them in a jar next to the beds in the attic (on a nightstand that I now have). A memory I will cherish and I wish my kids could experience.
I remember nights in Jamestown sitting on the screened-in porch at night with my Dad watching lightening storms. And now enjoying magnificent lightening storms on the deck overlooking the lake.
I remember when I was approximately ten driving from my grandparents in Gunnison in my Mom's old brown bobcat along the Glenwood Springs corridor (before there was a interstate) during a meteor shower. There were multiple shooting stars everywhere you looked for the whole trip. What an amazing experience! Since then I have probably only seen a handful of shooting starts.
When Morgan sees a jet stream in the sky she will get so excited, tell us all to look, and say that there is a shooting star!
The other night Curtis and I went on the deck for a few minutes, and both saw the same shooting star. Who knows what I wished for as a kid, but I know Curtis and I always wish for the same thing.... to have happy, healthy children, and that all their wishes will come true. Because after all they are the MOST magical things in our lives!
