Bitter Sweet.......

Shortly after the "pire truck" sweetness - Morgan and Graydon were playing in our bathroom sink with the Aqua Doodle stuff and I told Morgan, "make sure you turn off the sink." I should have known better......

After we had moved on to other tasks I heard water running. I ran to the bathroom hoping the overflow drain had done it's part. Nope.

There was water all over our bathroom counter, and bathroom floor, the carpet (removable thank goodness) was soaked. I cleaned that all up (with my two little helpers) and there was still water dripping. Perplexed I opened a drawer to find it full with water - along with the other 6 drawers!!! Aaarrrggg! So now during Graydon's nap I have to go through all the drawers and clean and dry the contents.

The conversation during "clean clup" went something like this:

Morgan: Maybe God will help clean up.
Morgan: I will help clean up since it is my fault.
Me: How did you get to be so sweet?
Morgan: Maybe I am sweet because God is so sweet!
Morgan: Aaaww. Look at Graydon he is such a big helper!
Graydon: Clean clup, clean clup

When does it end? The other day Curtis knocked down a new glass candle holder in the bathroom that broken into a thousand pieces - not kidding - it was like a crackled glass and it was a bare to clean up. He cleaned most of it, then I went in for finishing touches and still found glass everywhere - even on the toilet seat. Later that morning, cereal spilled all over the floor. This morning, after asking Graydon several times if he had to go to the bathroom, he peed A LOT on the floor (thankfully tile). Everyday somethings gets spilled several times (like ten or so), always followed by, "uh, oh getti o, clean clup!" Also, if you hadn't heard, Hershey had his tail dragged while on the golf cart and had a huge wound. Every time he wagged his tail it was like someone splattered a bloody paint brush all over the walls (it was hard to keep it bandaged) - I felt like I was in an episode of Dexter. His tail has healed, but I am still finding dried blood spots.

I'm catching up on blog-reading... Nice to see your kids give you emotional roller-coasters, just like mine.

Ironic that when Hershey's happy he's creating a new mess to clean! Can there be blood spatters of joy??

It could be worse, you could be "Otco-mom" and have even more kids to clean up after. ;)

Hi there Burke Family,

It's been a while..too long. I've just been catching up on everything. Seems like things keep moving along at a quick pace. So happy to see and her that you are all doing well...despite the little "downs". Miss you all! Love you!
