Graydon, Morgan, and Schuylerisms.......

Random things I love about Graydon:
  • The best part of my every day is snuggling with Graydon (and any or all the kids) - he snuggles for about 30 minutes after he wakes up in the morning and after his nap.
  • I love how he will be sitting right next to me reading a book, but he still crawls up on my lap to be closer.
  • How he puts his little hand right on mine, or how he will rub my back or arm just like I would his.
  • How he takes a drink of water (big boy), and gasps for air – so proud of himself.
  • How he likes to help me put on my shirt, pants and bra.
  • How he will dig in my house plants with such focus and precision.
  • His words that only I know and understand.
  • Trying hard to blow on the beer bottle koozie (thinking there was a bottle in it).
  • When he looks at something he is trying to figure out with such a look of intent and wonder.
  • Says Welcome when you give him something (instead of Thank you).
Other Random Graydonisms:
Graydon instead of saying "Sissy" for Schuyler does it while humming. So try to say sissy without opening your mouth and that is how he refers to her. If he is really trying to get her attention he will hum it louder and with much more emphasis.

Curious George..... I mean Graydon, in true form was getting into anything and everything. In the half bath I keep random things guests might need in a wicker basket (matches, a hand held game, clippers, emery board, a few tampons). Can you guess what he was curious about? I tried to take it from him several times but he was adamant to keep it and I got called for another mommy request. It wasn't a battle I wanted to fight and one I forgot about until I walked into the living room and found the tampon wrapper ripped to pieces and the rest disassembled and scattered. Imagine his surprise when it wasn't the tasty treat he was hoping for!

Random Morganisms:
We were having M&Ms and Graydon was counting them, "two, two, two," and Morgan said, "I am trying to spell my name....... M..... where is the O?" So cute!

Morgan was riding on a teeter totter and she said, "I want to go on the tater-tot again."

I had some Salt and Vinegar chips on my plate and Morgan being a chip lover wanted to try one. I told her I didn't think she would like it. She took a small bite and made a face just like when she was 8 months and tried a lemon or pickle for the first time. She said, "those chips are super-d-duper-y sour-y!"

Random Schuylerisms:
We were coming home from a late night at the beach with friends and I was complaining that I seem to usually have to pack up and unload, and that Curtis should take on the job of unloading. Schuyler said, "well Mom, he is carrying in two kids," as he brought in Morgan and Graydon. She is insightfully right. Although sometimes (usually) I might have to pack up while Graydon is napping, Curtis is down at the beach with the two girls - a handful in itself. And then more often than not, Curtis is once again on Graydon Duty - thank you, thank you - a fair trade for being the packer and unpacker!?

We were at the beach launching Uncle Bryan's Rocket and Schuyler was walking around in circles and making crazy footprints in the sand and said, "whoever walks by here is going to get really confused following all these crazy footprints!"

Schuyler has been able to get Graydon out of his crib a couple of times, how she does it has been unknown to us. One morning she went into his room to get him out, so we thought we would peek in the room. We must give ultimatums a lot - I know I do. Graydon did not want her to get him out, but she had his "Pup Cake" so she said, "If you let me help you out of the bed, then I will give Pup Cake back!" Then when she saw us looking at her she gave Pup Cake right back and said sorry while looking really guilty - we of course let her off the hook!

Graydon was calling for us one morning from his crib. Morgan said, "are you going to get baby cakes?" referring to Graydon. Schuyler said, "did you say baby cakes?" Which was a funny joke with her inherited dry sense of humor. She was not talking about Graydon, but was thinking about Daddy's favorite treat, venetians, aka baby cakes. One time when Schuyler was about 1, we were going though Albertsons grocery store with Sharon and Schuyler dropped her baby cake on the floor. She then proceeded to cry and scream, "I want my babycake" the rest of the trip!

My kids get so many kisses on their cheek, it is no wonder there aren't any holes. I absolutly love to kiss them!
