It reminded me that I have been meaning to do an art post...... I really miss Schuyler's beautiful, colorful, detailed drawings she use to do. Her artistic abilities have since been focused on books with words that need deciphering, and her and Morgan create 3D art using cardboard from our recycle bin. Pictured here are fairy houses complete with a swimming pool, and on the inside contains house plants, picture windows, carpets and furniture. One day they made cardboard mailboxes that hung on the window for weeks (Morgan is making another one now), and would send each other notes (I would slip some in as well). Schuyler just made a 3D cellphone that flips open to talk! Although I love the creativity and problem solving to make some of the art come to life, they are very hard to store and unfortunately after a week or two, they find there way back to the recycle bin (sshh... don't tell).
I think the last great picture Schuyler drew was a couple of months ago was for Parker Yax, the boy in her Kindergarten that had a brain tumor. He is battling the cancer, and I was relived to read recently that the new growth they found and thought was a relapse is not!!! We sent him a care package and Schuyler drew a picture of Parker and Mickey Mouse at Disney World where Parker will get to go thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My favorite part was that Parker is standing next to his wheelchair, and you can't tell, but there were very little people standing in line for the roller coaster. http://www.livestrongaction.org/dedication/parker-yax
